Sardinia inaugurates the first italian “nautical hotel”

Italy is going to have its nautical hotel as well. A  new kind of hospitality that comes to life from the idea to create a fleet of yachts all connected to a main structure in which tourists can lodge and sail.

To us Sardinia will be the pioneer, following the path of an already tested model that was presented the last October in Olbia, as part of the first Mediterranean’s convention.

An idea that goes beyond the charter and represents “an innovative tourism product”, quote sustained by the professors of the University of Sassari: Francesco Morandi e Antonio Usai; both of them agreed that this is a “new kind of hospitality able to combine experience , security, contact with nature, and sustainability”.

According to the experts , responsible of the studies conducted by “Tourism plus” a spin off of the University, the application of this model would also be “the answer  to the overtourism that characterized the pre-covid19 season and 2022 season”. Like, indeed, demonstrated by the studies: “The costumer is not an experienced sailor but a tourist that loves to get off the ground to visit the boroughs of the coast and that looks for the comfort , either in the services that can be found on board and in the common tourism services.

This new kind of tourism is also eco-sustainable because it doesn’t affect the environnement and provides new beds for tourists with a good spending opportunity that care about environnement”. A project that, taking account of the touristic activities  of the mainland, with its almost 9 km of coast, promises to be a replicable format in other areas and as the professors claim: “This format could empower new sustainable business experiences, improve interaction between companies of the nautical sector, and as a consequence it could develope the growth of a sustainable and non-seasonal kind of economy”.
