Girotonno is Carloforte

Food identifies and tells the territory. In few places in the world the statement is as true as in Sardinia. The cuisine is one of the most characteristic and distinctive Sardinian traits, an aspect that goes beyond the delicacies prepared on the island and creeps into the folds of its history. In San Pietro, an island on the island, a place with a wonderful sea and a strong character, the culinary tradition represents the identity and soul of the community. The Girotonno is its symbol. Every year the original food festival tells ‘men, stories and flavors on the routes of tuna’. Carloforte, the only inhabited center of the island, shows the world a tradition of fishing and cuisine in an international event expression of a thousand-year culture, a tradition focused on tuna, rais and ‘tonnaroti’.
