The innovative catamaran: the latest Yachting in Sardinia innovation

Group Y was born in the early 2000s with the Della Torre-Ricci family and is today a global point of reference in the nautical tourism sector.

The group includes:

– the Nautical Tourism activity with its 5 Nautical Bases located between Sardinia and Campania;

– the dealership activity of sailing and motor boats with 2 showrooms in Sardinia;

– the shipbuilding/refitting activity with the shipyard structure in Olbia in the Cala Saccaia area.

The main objective of the company has always been the diffusion of the culture of the sea and Sea – Glamping for an increasingly experiential tourism dedicated to nature and freedom, while protecting the sea and the environment at the same time. Thanks to these principles we were awarded by our partner Dufour as the best company for ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY 2023.

To achieve this goal, Group Y took part in a project called BlueFEEL whose aim is to innovate blue tourism through the introduction of a new type of yacht hotel: an innovative catamaran.

Thanks to the use of advanced EHYFA (EcoHybrid Floating Apartement) technologies, the new boat designed by Yachting in Sardinia with a multidisciplinary team of experts in blue tourism and green technologies, can revolutionize the yacht hotel in the sector by transforming a sailing holiday into a holiday blue week by expanding opportunities for potential customers and coastal economies.

Furthermore, following the 1st Mediterranean Nautical Conference held in October 2022, our CEO Francesco della Torre, together with Prof. Andrea Ratti, researcher and teacher of nautical design and architectural technology at the Design Department of the Polytechnic of Milan, brought the Albergo Nautico Diffuso to the attention of the students of the Naval Nautical Design and Industrial Design courses at the University of La Spezia, the University of Genoa and the Polytechnic of Milan.

Each project presents extraordinary and original ideas for this particular type of tourism: from the implementation of electric propulsion, to larger spaces to have greater natural lighting, from traditional Sardinian embroidery to branded sailing, etc.

In conclusion, Group Y never stops seeking innovation, eco-sustainability and comfort for all its customers, so that they can experience the holiday of their dreams while safeguarding the environment at the same time.
